Term Three: Week Seven ~ Screen Free Time

This week's photos will focus mainly on Munchkin and his activities for the week. He is currently "enjoying" and extended period of screen free time, so it has been interesting to see how he chooses to spend his "free time" when a screen is no longer an option. As you will see at the bottom of this post, he chose to read a LOT of the time. But I've been surprised and pleased to see him choose to do other activities as well. This is a reminder that it is good for all of us to take a technology break once in awhile and remember that there are other things in life that are worthwhile and fun to do.

Pastor A's birthday is coming up this week, so Sunday morning I got this beautiful photo of the three boys with her. A birthday present idea formulated in my head and worked out beautifully. I printed all the photos I had taken (family photo in January right before my birthday, each boy with Pastor A the Sunday before their birthday, and this one) and put them in a frame all together. The boys and I will present it to Pastor A next week at church and we're sure she will LOVE it!

Munchkin doing his writing with help from his friend "Spotty"! He was a birth gift to Munchkin from his godmother who also happened to be present at Munchkin's birth and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that he is still super attached to this guy.

Much fun was had on the trampoline one day this week. The facial expressions were so hilarious I included many more photos then I originally intended to.

Our selection of non-fiction (adult and junior) and literature read alouds that we finished this week.

One of the boys spotted this interesting spider clinging to the outside of our "screen" door at the front of the house. We're not sure what kind of spider it is, but we left him alone and he wandered off eventually.

The rain returned... meaning more indoor activities.

Munchkin kept himself busy making freshly squeezed orange juice, reviewing the books of the Bible with the cards they made in Sunday School, and building himself a fort on the lounge so he had a quiet place to read.

Thursday was "craft activity" at the library for their After School Activity program. We are enjoying the Thursday after school program, particularly because Thursday is our normal "library" day anyway. The funny thing about it though, is that so far there are only four families that attend regularly and three of them are homeschooling families!!

Munchkin isn't the ONLY one wounding himself these days. Monkey took this nice chunk out of his foot with his TOENAIL of all things. It was ugly enough that I decided to photograph it so we could keep an eye on it. Toenails are notoriously dirty body parts so infection is highly likely.

Another impromptu activity Munchkin chose this week - playing with dominoes. He alternated between building towers like this one, and setting up runs to knock down.

Finally, my few days of walking for this week... and as usual, below the stars are ALL Munchkin's independent reading choices for the week. There are tons and TONS of books as he is not on screens but as always I'm including the books because first of all this blog is part of my reporting and second of all I know some of my readers like book ideas/suggestions.
