Term Three: Week Six ~ Books, Birds and Board Games

We head into our second half of this term.
Once again, I didn't photograph our written book work, instead focusing on other activities.

Munchkin enjoyed a morning of toast with jam and a large selection of books.

On the way home from the library we did some bird watching.

During another outing we spotted this fledgling chick on the ground below a tree. We believe its nest was in the tree above, and we hope this little guy knows how to fly.

An impromptu play date with friends so the boys enjoyed playing some board games with their friends.

Term Three: Week Five ~ Book Week

This week was book week so we took part in some extra activities through the week.

We started the week with a trip to the library Monday afternoon for an author talk. The library set aside a special session with her just for our homeschool group. Wai Chim was not an author I had heard of before now, but she gave an EXCELLENT presentation and both Monkey and Munchkin have since read one of her books and LOVED it! We are looking forward to reading more of her books. Her talk was so good and so engaging that Munchkin said it felt like it was only five minutes!!

Later in the week, we met up with friends from homeschool group in the afternoon for a long walk and a play at the park. In the above photograph Monster is rolling all the way down a huge hill!!

We finished the week with our homeschool group visiting a beautiful park that we had never been to before. Homeschool group has met there NUMEROUS times but we have never been able to go. Until this week, when two friends of ours offered to transport us so that we could go! It was SO worth the effort and we are SO appreciative of our friends! The kids had a GRAND time... roaming in the wooded areas together, inventing a battle game together, playing in the water and finding these jellyfish looking creatures...

... And enjoying the dirt.  This little man is the youngest child of one of my dear friends in homeschool group. She asked me to keep an eye on him while she took one of her daughters to the toilet, so I kept him occupied by taking his photo!

Such a relaxing and beautiful place to spend a glorious, sunny, Friday afternoon.
