Term Three: Week Six ~ On the Downward Slide

The boys and I always like the sixth week of any term as we (they mostly) start to see the end of the tunnel of the term and the chance for a little break. This week we enjoyed time with friends and time to read along with our structured written work.

The succulent at church continues to tease us...

We finished two literature selections this week - Messenger was Munchkin's selection and David Copperfield was Monster's. I really enjoy reading Dickens aloud and both Monster and I thoroughly enjoyed the story even though it was VERY long.

Government is a unit study for Munchkin - and a review for the older boys and I.

I grab as many moments as I can during the day to do my own independent reading. For my friends and family in Australia (especially but not exclusively), I am really enjoying Peter Fitzsimons books. This is the second book of his that I've read and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Thankfully a dear friend gifted me with some other books of his, and the library has a stack of them as well.

This is not a great photo because they never hold still, but the angel fish babies are now happily living in the six foot fish tank and eating and growing.

Munchkin spent time one day doing an experiment to make his own cap gun refills. He doesn't own a cap gun but he was still able to follow the instructions of the experiment and he was absolutely THRILLED when it worked.

Board Game day at the library for After School Activities.

Followed by more game fun in the driveway.

Friday Fun with Friends at the park...

Hot chilli sauce taste test (with spoons of plain yogurt for cooling after)...

And sausage/salad wraps for dinner before youth group for the older boys...

Meanwhile Munchkin enjoyed games and movies...

and pizza for dinner with his Friday Friends!!
