Term Three: Week Two ~ Birthday Celebrations

Term Three is always a slow start for us. First of all, the Pupil Free Lego Day is on Monday and I still have one child young enough to attend that. Second, Monkey's birthday always falls sometime in the first week of the term, so we spend a day celebrating him. This year his birthday was the Tuesday so we waited until Wednesday to officially start the term.

My official birthday photo of Monkey. I can't quite fathom that he is fourteen years old already.

Monkey spent some time on his birthday enjoying extra computer time.

A couple of different photos of Munchkin working on his math.

A lunch break - noodles and a book and this boy is happy.

We did lots of reading this week even with the pupil free day and the birthday celebration>

The dining table all ready for birthday breakfast (left photo) and Munchkin and I enjoying a game of Mancala (right photo).

More birthday computer time...

Munchkin was my helper for the birthday breakfast of pancakes and bacon.

Birthday breakfast photo...

A random photo of our baby angel fish. A friend at church gifted us with eleven babies and they are currently living in a small tank while they grow large enough to survive in the six foot tank.

Munchkin was in charge of baking the birthday cake...

Monkey got to have two friends over for gaming time and dinner so we re-arranged the dining room to make room for so many boys.

Icing the cake...

Mario-Kart

So many boys...

The finished decorated cake.

This is how you cook enough sausages for five teenage boys and two adults... a frying pan on the stove and an electric fry pan on the kitchen bench.

More Switch gaming time...

Food, food, and MORE food... Monkey got to choose the menu: sausages, macaroni and cheese, brussel sprouts, mixed vegetables (peas/carrots/corn) and yummy bread that one of his friends made.

Cake for dessert...

Finally, still more gaming time with the Switch before the two friends were picked up and taken home. It was nice to be able to have a party again (even though it was small) and Monkey felt special and loved.

The after school activity at the library was a lyre bird craft that they all enjoyed.

Monkey often does his drawing on my bed now as it allows him more space to stretch out and work.

Friday fun at the park with four homeschool families that we are close friends with.

Monkey had lots of fun teaching the little boys (both 5 years old) how to do a secret handshake.

Friday night Munchkin and I enjoyed playing a card game together.
