Term One: Week Eight ~ Books and Paper Craft Fun

Per my usual, as we near the end of a term I'm not taking as many photographs of our structured written work. Add to that the fact that the boys are older, and photos of their written work just aren't really that exciting. So here is a blog post of books... lots and lots of books!!

Independent reading choices for Monkey...

Non fiction books that we read aloud this week...

Two chapter books we finished reading this week... Munchkin REALLY enjoyed The Phantom Tollbooth. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really liked the story and reading it aloud was fun.

Munchkin enjoyed making a paper boat (out of one of the MANY activity books he borrowed from the library recently) so he spent some time testing his creation.

Term One: Week Seven ~ Fun With Friends

This week my photo selection focuses on books we read and our social activities for the week. 

Sadly, we discovered that on of Munchkin's VERY favourite books, "Oh No, Little Dragon" by Jim Averbeck, is no longer available at our library. He was fairly devastated by this discovery so I went on a catalouge search for other dragon themed picture books and found these two by two favourite authors of ours. They certainly aren't a replacement for Munchkin's favourite book, but they were fun to read.

We read quite a few of our junior non-fiction books this week...

We got a serious amount of rain one day this week... complete with some minor flash flooding until the storm drains could catch up with the speed of the rain...

I enjoyed a good long walk on our stretch of footpath...

Legos during Thursday After School Activity time at the library is always fun...

Munchkin enjoyed a morning play date with his best friends on Friday. They thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the pet guinea pigs...

And also spent some time pouring over Munchkin's "Cardboard Creations" activity book he borrowed from the library...

Saturday morning the older boys best friend made his way over with his Nintendo Switch and his new VR headset so they could enjoy a gaming day together...

We have fruit on the dragon fruit vine...

Nintendo Switch fun... even I got in on this game and it was manic!!
