Monster continued to work through Lingua Latina Familia Romana and Lingua Latina Exercitia Latina 1. This book and exercise book will take him through this school year and likely through next year as well. He works through these books independently and then I grade his work with the answer key. Monster is doing exceptionally well working through these books independently.

ELECTIVE #2 ~ MARINE AND AQUACULTURE TECHNOLOGY:
Term Three we worked primarily on Monster's Oceans unit study.
"Ocean: The World's Last Wilderness Revealed" - this book will take a LONG time to read entirely

LOGIC:
We are using "Logic Self-Taught: A Workbook by Katarzyna Paprzycka - an online workbook.

Term Three: Week Ten ~ Bonus Week of School Holidays

Our bonus week of school holidays and we really enjoyed a chilled out week. I didn't schedule anything specific (other than our daily Bible and character reading) and we just let each day flow.

Our weekly library book haul out from garage quarantine and ready for the library bookshelves!

I insisted that one of our walks this week be the boardwalk to the oval.

Some very blurry photos of Munchkin (left) and Monkey (right) riding their scooters. I couldn't be bothered to stop walking while I took the photos as they were riding too fast... so blurry is what I got!

Games, games and more games... some of our evening routine time has been spent with the boys playing board games or card games together rather than me reading aloud... we are still working on books we were reading during the term... but I won't start any NEW books until Term 4 so this is a nice break for me...

Munchkin has also enjoyed some one-on-one game time with daddy and also with me (bottom two photos)... I am so thankful that we decided to start collecting good quality board games and card games and we have been blessed by friends and family who have gifted us with new games as well.

Finally, Munchkin has spent some time printing out Minecraft papercraft and has begun building during read aloud time.

Munchkin is re-reading all our Roald Dahl books...

Picture books still play a big role in our house...

Munchkin really enjoys the Deltora Quest series...

We are wrapping up our Australian Gold Rush unit... I read this book aloud to Monkey

Munchkin has re-discovered the Beast Quest books at the library...

More of Munchkin's independent selections for the week... he is my voracious reader

Monster is enjoying reading some of the Horrible Histories books he hasn't read yet... amazingly there are a few and our library has them available for borrowing.

Two read aloud selections that I read aloud to all three boys this week...

Finally, Munchkin decided to re-read some of our Ramona books as well...

Term Three: Week Nine ~ An Early Knock Off

All three boys worked really hard and finished all their structured work this week. Therefore, our "Spring Break" school holidays officially began on Friday this week. With Monkey sick with pneumonia over the July school holidays, none of us felt like we had a real break, so we are ready for some chill time.  There are no photos of the structured work that was finished up this week as there was so little of it to be done. Instead I chose to focus on the interest led learning that occurred through the week.

I discovered this beautiful spider in her web when I was in the front yard early Monday morning. Sadly, later in the day she had disappeared and we haven't seen her since.

We enjoyed another Mark Kistler free drawing lesson this week. From the top down are our drawings: Mum's, Monster's, Monkey's and finally Munchkin's! If you are interested in trying out these lessons for yourself, the link is attached HERE!

Munchkin did some work on his 500 piece puzzle during some of our read aloud sessions this week. He is making very good progress.

Monster started a new 1000 piece puzzle this week.

Munchkin is enjoying re-reading all the Roald Dahl books in our collection.

Munchkin is also enjoying reading, and re-reading, the Deltora Quest books we borrow frequently from the library.

Two read aloud selections that I finished this week... Monster and I really enjoyed the story of Lord of the Flies, although we found the ending to be very abrupt. The book about Captain Cook was aimed at Munchkin's history unit study, but Nicholas Brasch is an EXCELLENT non-fiction writer and all of us (myself included) enjoyed this book. We even learned a few new things despite have studied Australian history nearly continuously for the last five years.

More of Munchkin's independent reading for the week... he enjoys picture books still as well as chapter books.

Some fun independent reading for Monster...

Finally, Munchkin spent an early morning enjoying a variety of picture books - both library books and favourites from our home collection.

Now, bring on the school holidays...
