Term Three: Week Seven ~ Trip to the City

Week Seven is upon us and this is a busy week with some extra socialising...

We can just begin to see that the succulent is going to flower. If you look closely at the bottom right bunch of blossoms you can see the first flower.

We finished two more books in the unit study series that I'm reading aloud to Munchkin.

Much excitement this week as Munchkin discovered that this succulent was blooming. We have had this plant for years and NEVER seen flowers on it before.

We caught a hairy caterpillar and Munchkin was keen to house it and feed it and watch it pupate. Sadly, he managed to escape from his enclosure.

Tuesday evening we hopped on the train to meet up with a friend in the city for dinner. A long time friend (like childhood) of my husband's was in town for only two days and desperate to catch up and meet me and the boys. This is a beautiful building we noticed while walking from the train station to the hotel to meet her.

A view of the city at night is always a lovely way to end time in the city. Lucky there is this fabulous view from the train station.

On a walk home I spotted this Sulphur Crested Cockatoo munching on some object from a nearby tree. Sadly, I only had my phone with me and it doesn't do a great job at close up photos using the zoom feature.

After School Activity at the library on Thursday was a Father's Day craft. Australia celebrates on the first Sunday of September instead of June.

All the children enjoyed the craft and worked hard creating something special.

When we got home from the library Monster enjoyed some chess with his bestie.

Beautiful night sky...

Friday Fun with Friends for Munchkin... First he enjoyed getting to know their baby chickens.

Then he enjoyed time with the guinea pigs...

... and the cat!!

My favourite photo from the day! I LOVE that modern technology means my friend can send me photographic examples of Munchkins time out with them each week.

Lunch and a book for me!

Saturday morning one of my friends and I escaped for some child free time. First we went to a bookstore and browsed (it is independent and expensive so no purchasing there) and then we headed to the library. We rarely have the opportunity to browse the library without the children so it was a treat to be able to concentrate on the books we are interested in.

Finally, Monkey got a lesson from dad on how to mow the lawn. Now we have two boys capable of completing this chore.

My walking for the week.
