Term Three: Week Nine ~ Natural Learning

You know the warm weather is definitely on the way when the lizards start to come out. I was visiting our neighbour across the road and when I came out of his backyard I was greeted by this beautiful Blue Tongue Lizard. He is large and healthy looking and it is wonderful to see. It also means the two lizards who live on our property should come out soon.

The term is nearly over and we are finishing up our work. Munchkin set himself a goal to finish all his scheduled written work by the end of week nine and he met that goal. Therefore he earned himself an extra week of school holidays.

Above are the books we finished off this week. The last of the books on Ned Kelly for Munchkin, and the second to last robot book from that excellent series. Also the river book was a read aloud for Monkey for his geography studies about water and it was an EXCELLENT read. We really enjoyed it and it was fascinating to learn what different countries around the world are doing to improve river health.

Lego at the library on Thursday and Munchkin's bestie built "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"

Munchkin is very keen to grow more plants so despite the unseasonably warm weather we had this week, I found the leftover Discovery Garden plants, and the other supplies he needed to plant them, and he got to work. He chose ten to start with - five flowers and five vegetables - and we'll see how many actually grow.

After all his hard work he found the proper place in the yard to put them so they get the right amount of sunlight and shade and he will water them in the evenings.

Friday Fun With Friends - playing with the chickens...

And card game fun as well!
