Term Four: Week Two ~ Fun Socialising

Week Two of our last term of the year and we are fully back in swing. I added writing and spelling to their work load and they all got on with the business of learning.

Munchkin working on his math chapter. He really enjoyed it as it was translations, rotations and enlargements and reductions.

We finished lots of our non-fiction books this week...

We finished off the last of the books about Pearlie this week and returned the book so the next person could enjoy the stories. It meant reading them a little faster than I would normally, but Munchkin still really enjoyed her books.

Monkey finished this book for next year's Premier's Reading Challenge. He read the book independently.

When the boys have finished their written schoolwork they are free to play computer for 30 minutes. Here Munchkin is enjoying time playing a game online with two of his homeschool group friends.

The weather has been crazy... VERY wet and much colder than normal for this time of year. The cooler wet weather is predicted to extend all the way through the summer for a second year in a row.

These two photos are of a thunderstorm that was building... but it tracked to the north and missed us completely.

Thursday's After School Activity was a Halloween craft and Munchkin enjoyed it even though it was quite simple. He cut a paper plate in a crescent shape and decorated it with yellow, orange and gold paper, and then had three bats to colour and hang from the moon. Whilst he was busy with that I spent my time collecting our reserves and browsing the shelves and new books had arrived. Neither of our friends were there this week so we didn't stay long.

Friday was a BIG day for the boys and I though I don't have all that many photos. I walked to the shopping centre in the morning with Monkey as he had a doctor's appointment. Then after a morning of schoolwork we left to walk up to the park for homeschool group with another family - everyone else was scared off by the weather - and in the evening Munchkin and I walked to the chemist and back.

During that walk we spotted three Rainbow Lorikeets in the trees and I was able to get a couple of good shots with the camera on my phone.

The eldest child of the other homeschool family walked home with us in the evening so that he could go with Monkey and Monster to their cousins house for a games night. My husband drove them all and they enjoyed some Nintendo Switch time as well as pool and snooker. The above photo shows Monster and his friend having a weight lifting contest before they left...

Midnight antics... they had JUST got home and were having a big of silly fun before they all ate a snack and got a little bit of sleep.

An early morning Monopoly game on Saturday before the friend's mum came to pick him up.

I set a new record on my walking app with all the walking I did on Friday...
