Homeschool Group - Sculptures

Several members of our homeschool group attended Sculpture By the Sea so we decided a sculpture class (or sorts) was in order.  The people who went shared their photos of the Sculpture By the Sea exhibits and we looked at different sculptures that some of us had made at home.

Then there was some free time to create sculptures with toys and various craft objects.

Munchkin is quite proud of his design - he created it all on his own!

 One of the mum's brought in her cardboard sculpture and also showed the children how to make flowers using empty plastic water bottles and tissue paper.

Munchkin thinks he is one of the big kids!!

Homeschool Group at the Park

Our homeschool group spent the day at the park today.

There was time for eating, digging in the dirt, visiting with friends, and climbing.

The whole group (preschoolers included) spent a LOT of time on the play equipment (not pictured) creating a very imaginative game about space ships and blasting off to different places!

It was a day well spent and MUCH needed!

Our Growing Group

Our homeschool group has seen some new families join and we have a good sized (perfect I would say) group now.  The children are comfortable with each other and enjoy learning and playing together.  The core group is in the 5-8 year old range, but then we have a smaller group in the 2-4 year old range, and four babies who are 1 year old or younger!  I'm excited to see what the future holds for our group! 

Shops and Restaurants

This week at homeschool group the children set up shops and restaurants and enjoyed collaboration and imaginative play.

Afterwards we enjoyed some games and activities with the parachute. 

Hosting Homeschool Group

Periodically only a few families from our homeschool group can attend our weekly session and then we hold it at someone's house. I offered up our house this week and the boys were SO excited to have all their friends come over.

Straight after breakfast we got to work preparing scones for morning tea.
While the dough rested the boys enjoyed eating some plain flour!!
I thought it was disgusting but they both said it tasted nice.

There was even time to read a story together...

One of the things I love about our homeschool group is that the younger siblings are always included if they want to participate.
