Term Two: Week Six ~ Socialising

Enjoy another post that showcases the extra bits of our week outside of our book learning.

Monkey just keeps growing. This is a picture of him measuring his height compared to his Godmother who is about 5'11" tall.

Free books are ALWAYS fun! The top three books in this stack were a gift from Monkey's Godmother. She entered an author giveaway that the author of the top book was doing and won the three books you see on the top of this stack. Amazingly, when the box arrived, there were THREE copies of each of the three books inside. So Auntie H kept her set and gifted the other two sets to lucky people. I'm so excited to read these wonderful books.
The bottom three in the stack were a random find. After church we went to drop some items off at the local St Vincent de Paul store (our equivalent of Goodwill for my American readers) and next to their outdoor collection box was a huge bag of books just left on the ground. I quickly sorted through the bag and removed these three books and then donated the rest so they wouldn't get ruined. I have NEVER been able to understand people who don't respect books.

Munchkin was excited to discover that his rosemary plant is blooming again.

Monkey finished reading this book for Premier's Reading Challenge.

I finally made time to help Munchkin replant the succulents we bought him on his birthday.

Junior non-fiction history read alouds for Munchkin and Monkey

Literature read alouds for Monster and Munchkin.

Thursday was our social day for the week. We walked to the library and met up with another homeschool family there... Here three children enjoyed browsing books while they waited for us to arrive.

Then it was off to the park across the road... The big kids played on the Nintendo Switch while the other kids ran around and played. Then we all walked home together as this particular family lives not far from us.

Munchkin really enjoyed these books from a new author that was recommended to us - particularly Sweep which he really enjoyed.

One of Munchkin's best friends noticed this book in the new book display and suggested I borrow it for Munchkin. She knows him well as he LOVED it.
