Term Three: Week Four ~ Board Games, Books, Art Lessons and More...

Winter is not over with us yet. Even though it is sunny and dry, the temperature has dropped and the winds have begun. It is always windy in August... GREAT for the laundry... hard for keeping warm. We are reaching the midpoint of this term already and it simply doesn't seem possible. So sit back and enjoy the photos of our week of learning and life.

Our weekly photo of our library books coming out of their three day quarantine in the garage. It seemed silly to me that I take these pictures, UNTIL this particular picture helped me see that we had NOT returned one of the How to Train Your Dragon books, and that therefore it had to be in the house. Yes, we found it, safe and sound in the cloth library bag that Munchkin had taken to church with him and forgotten to unpack when we got home. So, to help me keep better track of our library books, even after COVID, I will continue to photograph the books that we check out each week.

Sunday night Munchkin wanted to play a board game for his evening routine time instead of reading aloud... so of course we had to play Pandemic!!

Monster finished yet another puzzle...

Promptly started another one...

And made very good progress in two days...

Munchkin working on his handwriting page (left photo) and then enjoying some free Lego building time (right photo). All these Legos on the floor have been dumped out from our box of Legos that need to be sorted through and returned to their rightful colour boxes... this is a project I've been putting off for some time, but as the pile of Legos is overflowing out of the box, I will need to get to the project sooner rather than longer...

Monkey working on his math assignment while eating lunch at the same time...

We enjoyed another Mark Kistler drawing lesson... This is my drawing!

This is Monster's finished product...

This is Monkey's finished drawing...

And this is Munchkin's drawing...
You can find the Mark Kistler drawing lesson HERE.

More puzzle progress...

Munchkin enjoying one of our two new recliner chairs... no more leather... YAY!!

Monster's Friday night puzzle progress...

I am successfully growing coriander (cilantro) finally!! We shall see how long it lasts... I've tried to grow coriander many times before and not had any luck.

And the boys ended their week with a Saturday afternoon game of chess!

Munchkin's Independent reading for the week... (some of it)

Read aloud selections for all three boys...

Munchkin's remaining independent reading for the week... along with library books he worked his way through my Ramona collection - reading them again for himself after enjoying them as read alouds earlier in the term!

  1. I wish the library would get the Ramona series on audio! Love those. Good job with the puzzles too. Reminds me I need to upgrade our selection.
