Term Two: Week Seven ~ Books, Lego, Puzzle and a Mystery Rash

Another week has come and gone. The boys and I are amazed that there are only three weeks left in this term. How time flies when you are having fun studying... even with the lock down and the strangeness of this year in the midst of the pandemic... time marches on. My photo selection is slim this week... but you can still see some of the fun we had. No photos of structured written work, but it got done as well. All three boys finished another chapter in their math books and we continue with our unit studies in science, history and geography.

This was our newest haul of books from the library. We "click and collect" sometime between 3pm and 4pm on Thursday afternoons. The books go into the garage for a 3-day quarantine (as most have plastic coating on the covers) and then I bring them into the house on Sunday evening to join our other library books on our special library bookshelf.

We misunderstood the directions in the Lego mosaic book (see below) that we borrowed from the library, and thought we needed a 2ft x 2ft base plate so Munchkin spent a good portion of Sunday trying to construct one...

Sunday night puzzle progress...

The boys are pretty excited about this book...

After carefully looking at the direction pages in the book we discovered that we already had a base plate that was the correct dimensions... so Munchkin selected his picture and got to work. We shall see if our general Lego collection is big enough to allow the full picture to be built...

It looks as if we will have a very wet winter... this is much needed but makes exercise more difficult. Any time it wasn't raining I dragged the boys out for a walk or a scooter ride.

Monster got another three nights worth of puzzle work in this week... the progress is subtle... but if you look carefully you can see it.

We ended the week with a mystery rash all down the front of Munchkin. It meant a trip to our family doctor on Friday morning with the diagnosis of a viral rash. We are now treating it with various creams and lotions, some antihistamines, and it is improving. The photo on the left was taken on Friday morning while the photo on the right was the improvement from Friday to Saturday. So thankfully the treatment we are giving appears to be working.
