Term Three: Week Eight ~ Outside Play and Sneaky Reading

While September weather can be quite unpredictable, and often volatile, we have been enjoying some LOVELY spring weather. We are trying to make the most of it and get outside as much as possible before the hot summer weather arrives.

It is ALWAYS exciting to see a Kookaburra when we are out and about.

The boys enjoyed some chalk drawing at the park one afternoon.

Munchkin is working hard to do a bit of catch up work in his handwriting book.

I worked on my weekly photography challenge - snapping this photo for the theme "lines" while we were out for an afternoon walk.

A certain little Munchkin has learned to read on the sly...

I am beyond thrilled that I can get most of the Fitzroy Readers from our local library...

Munchkin read all three of these books with ease, from the first introduction to them.

A few of Munchkin's picture book choices for the week...

Our lunchtime read alouds were these books about Australian rainforests and the earth... covering some geography and science topics for all three boys.

Munchkin has quite the obsession with board books at the moment...

Evening read alouds for Monkey - part of his Australian history unit.

Monster and I finished this read aloud to wrap up his Ancient China unit - it was intense reading at times, but we both REALLY enjoyed the book.

More Australian history read alouds for Monkey...

Monkey discovered the wonder of some of our other Andy Griffiths books this week...
