Term Three: Week Two ~ Stop Motion Mania, Nature Walks, and Books

Week Two is upon us and we are finding our groove...

Monkey is absolutely obsessed with stop motion video at the moment. He spends large amounts of his free time arranging and photographing all manner of scenes with the vast Lego collection we now have.

Late one afternoon I spotted a Black Cockatoo in a tree around the corner from our house. The three boys and I grabbed our cameras and ran!  It turned out there were about a DOZEN cockatoos, they weren't afraid of us, and they happily sat in their tree munching away while we tooks dozens and dozens of photos of them.

It was extra special to see a couple of Crimson Rosellas. They are VERY timid though and flew away before I could get my camera settings correct for the lighting.

We continue to do HEAPS of reading...
Monkey continues to work on his books for Premier's Reading Challenge so completed this book during the week!

We continued our whole group unit study on landforms and landscapes...

 Picture books for Munchkin...

Picture books are also GREAT for geography...

Munchkin has been enjoying LOTS and LOTS of reading with daddy at bedtime. Most nights he gets 3-4 books read to him before it is time for lights out!!
