Over the course of the term Monster wrote two paragraphs using the techniques set out in this program.  Topics included: Harmful food and Aeroplanes

Handwriting:
Foundation Handwriting Year 5

Grammar:
For Grammar this year we have returned to our textbook called The Grammar Ace.  Lessons included: Verb Tense, Voice, Synonyms and Antonyms, Predicate Nouns and Adjectives, Prepositions and Indirect Objects.

Spelling:
daily oral review of weekly lists as sourced from year 6 lists on the internet
(20 words per list)
written test taken every Friday

Maths:
Cambridge Maths Year 7
HIGH SCHOOL maths this year!
I'm working through the textbook with Monster and so far we have been VERY successful. Despite not getting the book until week 5 we made good progress.  We worked through two units in the book which covered the following topics:
Unit One:
Pre-test, ancient number systems, Hindu-Arabic numbers, adding and subtracting positive integers, algorithms for adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing small positive integers, multiplying and dividing large positive integers, dividing positive integers and dealing with remainders, estimating and rounding positive integers, order of operations with positive integers and chapter summary.
Unit Two:
Pre-test, points, lines, intervals, and angles, measuring and classifying angles, adjacent angles and vertically opposite angles, transversal lines and parallel lines, solving geometry problems, circles and constructions with ruler and compass, and chapter summary.
