Homeschool Group Excursion - Alexander's Outing

Our homeschool group decided to go on an excursion in the city to re-enact the book Alexander's Outing by Pamela Allen

I had a sleepless night with Munchkin the night before so we headed into the city MUCH earlier than the rest of the group.  Since our meeting point was Archibald Fountain at Hyde Park the big boys had the opportunity to enjoy the fountain and the water while we waited.

Alexander's Outing...

... down Art Gallery Road past the art gallery...

...through the iron gates and into the Botanical Gardens...

...past the tree...

... until we reached the pond!

There were some impromptu stops along the way to admire other fountains, tulips, and bridges before finding a picnic spot.  Several of the children enjoyed rolling down the grassy hill after lunch too!!
